Chanel, the iconic French luxury brand founded by Coco Chanel, partnered with Schimenti to build their latest fragrance and beauty store on the Upper West Side.

The project encompassed the construction of a 2,333-square-foot retail space comprising a ground-floor sales area and cellar facilities. Notable challenges included addressing existing conditions to ensure perfectly level floors and ceilings for seamless coordination with owner-provided millwork. Additionally, the Landmark Preservation Committee’s requirements posed hurdles regarding the storefront and façade.

To overcome these challenges, Schimenti implemented solutions such as floor leveling throughout the ground floor sales area. They also conducted shop drawing and layout reviews to ensure alignment with the owner-provided millwork. Extensive coordination with overhead MEPs was undertaken to maximize ceiling heights and layout, ensuring alignment with the owner-provided millwork.

Despite these hurdles, the project was successfully completed within 39 weeks, highlighting Schimenti’s commitment to quality craftsmanship and Chanel’s dedication to providing exceptional luxury experiences.
